Overview

The part-time Digital Content Creator position is responsible for creating and editing video content for social media that reflects the vision, mission and brand of the College. This position is responsible for coordinating, producing, recording and editing short videos, reels and stories to be used on the College’s social media accounts, YouTube channel, digital advertising, or any digital marketing campaigns. This position will also assist in ensuring that all videos support NYMC’s core messaging and that the College brand is effectively communicated to foster engagement and increase overall NYMC’s brand awareness. Must be able to work on our Valhalla campus. 

 

Up to 20 hours per week as needed (a flexible work schedule is provided) at a rate of $20 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Office of Public Relation’s social media team to produce videos and content that are professional and follow industry guidelines, as well as that accurately reflect the NYMC brand.
  • Plan, set up, film, edit and perform all related production activities using video editing software and/or apps for a variety of outlets including social media, the College website, e-newsletters, as well as digital advertisements for a variety of NYMC audiences, including but not limited to, current and prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff and the media.
  • Attend NYMC lectures and events taking video recordings and conducting interviews as necessary with NYMC students, faculty, staff and alumni, to create compelling digital content.
  • Post social media video reels on all social media channels and track analytics.
  • Launch a Tik Tok account for the College and produce engaging and professional content.
  • Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment.
  • Editing footage after recording.
  • Adding computer graphics, closed captioning and special effects to footage.
  • Stay current on industry standards and innovation through a commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of communications, content strategy, social media and issues that affect higher education.
  • Serve, at all times, as a champion and advocate of NYMC through excellent communication skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

(A) Education requirement: 

  • High school diploma required, college degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field preferred.

(B) Licenses or certifications: 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

(C) Technical/computer skills: 

  • Using social media on behalf of a company required, as well as knowledge of video editing software/apps and email marketing platform preferred

(D) Prior experience:

  • one year of experience successfully coordinating marketing and promotional campaigns and creative deliverables.

Minimum Salary

USD $16.00/Hr.

Maximum Salary

USD $20.00/Hr.
