The Research Technician positon is to support the ongoing operations within Translational Research Laboratory in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. The primary activities of the Translational Research Laboratory will be to support correlative studies from ongoing clinical trials and facilitate specimen processing and collection from patients with cancer. The Research technician will be responsible for specimen processing and storage, maintenance of various databases, and performance of assays using collected specimens including ELISA, western blotting, RT-PCR, and flow cytometry.
1. Process, store, and ship of collected human specimens
2. Perform biochemical assays
3. Maintain various databases logging human specimens
4. Maintain the laboratory environment
(A) Education Requirement: B.S. in biochemistry or biology
(B) Licenses or Certifications: needs to pass the required safety training certifications
(C) Technical/Computer Skills: be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
(D) Prior Experience: familiarity with a biochemical research environment preferred.
(E) Physical & Environmental Demands: Be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted. Be able to perform fine motor skills.
