The Senior EH&S Coordinator will play a key role in supporting New York Medical College’s comprehensive environmental, safety, occupational health, and research and clinical compliance programs in support of and under the general supervision of the department director
(A) Education requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree required. MS/MPH highly preferred.
(B) Licenses or certifications:
DOJ/FBI/DMV background checks and clearances required. HAZWOPER/RCRA/DOT HAZMAT/IATA certifications strongly preferred. CPR/AED Instructor certification preferred.
(C) Technical/computer skills:
Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams. Must be able to utilize Zoom. Must be able to use iPad/iPhone applications.
(D) Prior experience:
Working knowledge of research laboratory processes, equipment and facilities is essential.
(E) Other skills/ requirements:
Must have collaborative customer service attitude and skills, exceptional written and oral communication. Must have ability to work independently, to anticipate departmental needs and, and function as a team member. (F) Physical and Environmental Demands:
Must be able to wear a respirator. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Able to walk between multiple sites on campus.
Work within laboratories and storage areas containing chemicals, biohazards, and radioisotopes.
