Overview

Associate to work on an NIH-funded project that studies antibiotic resistance in a bacterial pathogen.

Responsibilities

The major tasks will be:

  • Perform complex experiments in the fields of bacteriology and immunology. Includes work with molecular biology, protein chemistry, immunoassays and live animals (mice, survival surgery).
  • Provide scientific input to the design of experimental work and interpretation of data.
  • Guide, manage and supervise laboratory research assistants, students, and research fellows.
  • Self-guidance to learn new methodologies and gain expertise in new scientific areas, as needed.
  • Supervise and manage purchase orders, equipment, and inventories.
  • Supervise and manage the onboarding and certification of laboratory staff.  
  • Abide by established lab standards for communication, documentation, organization, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Education requirement: Minimum: Ph.D.

 

Technical/computer skills: Excel

 

Prior experience: Five years (or more) laboratory experience preferred

Minimum Salary

USD $52,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $65,000.00/Yr.
