Overview

Reporting to the VP for Research and team to accomplish the goals of the Office of the Vice-President for Research (OVPR). This position will be primarily assisting the VP with day-to-day operations, managing the VP's calendar and travel, basic invoicing and other projects as needed by the VP and/or team. Their role is to also assist in maintaing records, event organzing, and other administrative tasks as needed. This position does not offer remote or hybrid work and is onsite full-time. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine daily tasks, such as managing the front desk, screening calls, maintaing files and restocking the office supplies and other office expenses. 
  • Responsible for assisting the coordinator with event planning, promotion and social media for the core office and those reporting to the VP as a whole.
  • Keep track of VP's calendar, inspections, renewals, etc., including management of records, databases, and onboarding of staff and volunteers.
  • The employee must be effective under pressure, organized, and professional. 
  • Assist with tracking department expenditures for the VP as needed.

Qualifications

Education requirement: Bachelor's degree required. Background in communications or sciences preferred. 

 

Technical/computer skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams. Must be able to utilize Zoom. Must be able to use iPad/iPhone applications, and social media.

 

Prior experience: Working knowledge of research and STEM outreach, or social media and administrative experience is preferential. At least 2-3 years experience with administration in academia or research institutions preferred. 

 

Other skills/requirements: Must have collaborative customer service attitude and skills, exceptional written and oral communication. Must have ability to work independently, to anticipate departmental needs and function as a team member. Physical demands: Must be able to walk between multiple sites on campus and able to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion.

Minimum Salary

USD $24.00/Hr.

Maximum Salary

USD $30.00/Hr.
