The Laboratory Assistant at New York Medical College (NYMC) will be an integral member of the laboratory environment supporting medical research in important areas of focus including cancer, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, kidney disease, the neurosciences, disaster medicine, and vaccine development. This position may involve various responsibilities including but not limited to assisting with the design and performance of experiments, documenting results, maintaining laboratory equipment and stock, and ensuring laboratory organization. The Bisserier Laboratory at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, is currently seeking a Full-time Laboratory Assistant. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an interest in cellular and molecular biology. As a Laboratory Assistant, they will various laboratory techniques, including cell culture using human pulmonary vascular cells, pharmacological treatments, proliferation/apoptosis assays, immunoblotting, qRT-PCR, staining, in-vivo models of the disease, and various bioinformatic tools to analyze new data. The ideal candidate should excel in a collaborative team environment while also demonstrating strong self-motivation and determination.
